Dead Zone Revive launched on August 3, 2026 — but not where most people are looking for it. The Steam page still shows “coming soon”, because the Steam release was pushed back at the last minute. The game is live through the official launcher from deadzonegame.net instead, and your account will carry over to Steam later.

This wiki documents what Ruby Realms Studios has actually published — Steam announcements, the store page, and the official site. Where something has not been announced, the page says so instead of filling the gap.

Start here: how to play right now covers the launcher everyone is asking about. Steam release status explains the delay and the account carry-over. The Last Stand legacy page covers how this revival relates to the original game.

Dead Zone Revive is a free zombie survival game built around real-time missions, scavenging and base defence. The official description: fight, rebuild, and survive in a zombie apocalypse — lead your team in real-time missions, gather weapons, gear, and supplies, and defend your base with tactical RPG and strategy gameplay.

The official site describes three core systems:

  1. 01 Recruitment. Gather survivors with specialized traits, and manage morale and hunger to keep your compound running.
  2. 02 Fortification. Engineer defenses, lay traps and build barricades to repel nocturnal raids.
  3. 03 Scavenging. Infiltrate infected-dense districts for rare supplies and legendary loot.

Dead Zone Revive is developed and published by Ruby Realms Studios, and its own team describes the project plainly: “Dead Zone Revive is a not-for-profit fan-run project, in agreement with Con Artist Games.” The Steam App ID is 3919900. Steam lists English as the supported language, with full audio support.

An Authorised Revival, Rebuilt From Scratch

Section titled “An Authorised Revival, Rebuilt From Scratch”

This is a revival of The Last Stand: Dead Zone by Con Artist Games. The original game’s source code was lost, so the team has been reverse-engineering the old game’s server logic to bring it back. The legacy page covers exactly what has been confirmed about the relationship between the two games.

Release Status: Launched, but Not on Steam Yet

Section titled “Release Status: Launched, but Not on Steam Yet”

The game launched on August 3, 2026, a date the developer called fixed. This launch is a second release of the alpha version with bug fixes, and the team ran a private Early Access session in the days before launch to hunt bugs.

The catch: the Steam and Epic Games versions did not launch on August 3. The review build could not be submitted to Steam in time, and Steam’s review usually takes one to two weeks. Until then, the game is played through the official launcher — a direct download from the official site. Progress carries over, because every version uses the same servers and the same account.

Full details, with sources: release date · Steam release status · how to play right now.

Dead Zone Revive is free. Steam lists it as Free To Play, and the team describes the project as not-for-profit. The Steam page also lists an In-App Purchases category — what that covers has not been announced, and the price page tracks exactly what is confirmed.

The Steam page lists a minimum of Windows 10/11 64-bit, an Intel Core i3 or equivalent, 2 GB of RAM, a DirectX 10 compatible GPU and 300 MB of storage — low enough for most older machines. Full minimum and recommended tables are on the system requirements page.

The rule is simple: if Ruby Realms Studios has published it, it goes in. If not, the page says “not announced” rather than inventing an answer.

That currently applies to what In-App Purchases will cover, the exact Steam release day, the Epic Games release date, whether old accounts from the original game can be recovered, and every specific number — weapon stats, building levels, survivor caps. None of that is public, so none of it appears here as fact.

For quick answers see the FAQ. Ongoing coverage lands in news and patch notes. For transparency about the site itself, see About, Contact, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
