Dead Zone Revive Steam Release

Dead Zone Revive is not on Steam on August 3, 2026. The review build missed submission, so the Steam version is expected roughly one to two weeks later.

Short answer, because this is the question almost everyone arrives with on launch day: Dead Zone Revive is not playable on Steam on August 3, 2026. Ruby Realms Studios announced on July 29, 2026 that the review build was not submitted to Valve in time. Steam review normally takes one to two weeks, so the developer expects the Steam version to appear roughly one to two weeks after submission. No exact date has been given.

The game itself did release on August 3, through a direct download with its own launcher at deadzonegame.net/playnow. And because every launcher connects to the same server, anything you play now carries straight over to the Steam version when it arrives. Nothing is wasted by starting on the launcher.

The Steam store page — store.steampowered.com/app/3919900 — is live and still lists Aug 3, 2026 as the release date, with the game marked as coming soon. That mismatch between the listed date and an unreleased build is exactly what the July 29 announcement describes.

Why is Dead Zone Revive not on Steam on release day?

Because the review build was not submitted in time. Every Steam release has to pass Valve’s review before it can be published, and that review typically takes one to two weeks. Ruby Realms Studios ran out of runway to submit before August 3, so the storefront release fell outside the launch window while the game itself stayed on schedule.

This is worth separating clearly:

Status on August 3, 2026
The game Released — playable via the official launcher
Steam version Not yet available; awaiting review
Epic Games version Announced, no date

It is a distribution delay, not a development delay. That distinction is the whole story of this launch.

When will Dead Zone Revive come out on Steam?

Roughly one to two weeks after the review build is submitted, per the July 29 announcement. That is the only guidance Ruby Realms Studios has given. There is no announced calendar date, and any site listing a specific Steam day is inventing it.

Some context on how much weight to put on that estimate: the Steam and Epic portion of this release has now slipped twice. On March 10, 2026 the developer announced a delay affecting Steam and Epic only, with other platforms unaffected. On July 29 it slipped again. The playable game has been the more reliable of the two dates throughout.

Can I play Dead Zone Revive while waiting for Steam?

Yes. The official website provides a direct download with its own launcher at deadzonegame.net/playnow, and that version went live on August 3, 2026. It is free.

Will my launcher progress carry over to the Steam version?

Yes. Ruby Realms Studios has been explicit that all launchers use the same server. The launcher build, the Steam build and the eventual Epic build all connect to one back end with one account, so your base, survivors and progress live on the server rather than in the client you happen to be using.

Switching later takes three steps and no migration request:

  1. Uninstall the official launcher.
  2. Install the Steam version.
  3. Log in with the same account you already use.

The longer version, including what to do first if you are installing today, is on the how to play page.

Is Dead Zone Revive coming to the Epic Games Store?

Official announcements consistently refer to a “Steam and Epic Games release,” so an Epic version is planned. No Epic date has been announced — not a window, not a quarter. The March 10 announcement grouped Epic with Steam in a delay, and nothing since has separated them.

Even before the build goes live, the store page is a usable source for what the game is:

Is Dead Zone Revive free on Steam?

Yes — the store page lists it as Free To Play. The category list also includes In-App Purchases, but Ruby Realms Studios has not announced what those purchases are, what they cost, or how they work. The price page covers what is and is not known there, including the project’s not-for-profit status.

For hardware, the Steam page carries a full requirements list, and it is a light one: a Core i3, 2 GB of RAM and 300 MB of storage at minimum. See system requirements.

  • An exact Steam release date.
  • Any Epic Games Store date.
  • What the listed in-app purchases contain.
  • Steam Deck compatibility rating, achievements, trading cards or workshop support.
  • Whether the Steam version arrives with a different build number or patch level than the launcher.

This page will be updated when the Steam build goes live. Until then, the release timeline in full is on the release date page, and common launch-day questions are collected in the FAQ.
